Richard B. Cheney an prominent public servant and businessman is the vice-president of the United States. Cheney known as a popular figure in Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney on July 20, 2000 to be his vice-presidential running mate commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to a president, served as a member of Congress and served as the secretary of defense. Cheney is an honest man, who has the respect of both Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney declared that his position within the Bush administration is that of a transparent but disinterested adviser. Cheney declared his delight at accepting the Republican vice-presidential nod. He said that he is looking forward working with a leader who can collaborate with those who have differing political opinions and who share shared goal. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family moved across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper where his dad was the Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservation district.
